Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
The full quote

"The challenge with West Ham is spectacular. Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team because they are rich but careful with money. We are trying to get the owner to loosen up to make an important investment and thus bring the players we need.” "

It would.

But the whole thing that this story fails to point out is that Pelle and the board would already have had discussions about this and he would have been given assurances that the next step is what we want and he will be given funds to do it......... Up to a certain point.

Pelle is not going to come here expecting to be signing the top, top players. He knows that. So he will have given the board a direction on what players they could get.

Further to this the board have sanctioned the employment of a recruitment manager that Pelle has suggested.

So the paper are trying to make you believe that they are now at loggerheads when a) he hasn't even been there and b) all of the above has already occurred.

It's just total bollocks.

you see it as conflict in wanting better players, i see it as ambition

Any sane fan would hope that this is not true and that he has no issues with DS or his transfer budget and targets.

What?? So you actually want Pelle to be in conflict with our owners over transfers?

There headline was something like "New West Ham boss ALREADY at odds with chiefs", trying to stir up shit about them rather than focusing on Pellegrini wanting to bring a big name in.

Why wouldn't any supporter want this headline to be true?

Pretty shitty of the Mirror to put out that story less than 24 hours after breaking the initial one, without then retracting their bs headlines.
I hate the press

Why are there so many so called supporters that would love this to be true.

Sad and bitter.

He never said anything negative about their relationship in the first place, but at least it puts this shit to rest. Well, until the next speculative bollocks article spinning words to mean something it doesn't appears.

No problem with Sullivan or Gold, good relationship as they work to bring in players together and share a vision for how that works.

Comments taken out of context, apparently.

Re: Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
Should they be indeed daft enough to allow a situation where Pellegrini will walk before he has even properly begun, then the board will either have to find a buyer or it will get very nasty.

There will be uncomfortable scenes a la Burnley at plenty of games, but probably much more intense and tenfold in numbers, compared to Burnley.

It will not make for pleasant recaps in the media.

Re: Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
Clearly Pellegrini isn't prepared to be thrown under the bus without dragging Sullivan with him.
Really don't know where the board turn if Pellegrini leaves due to lack of support with transfers, the lie will finally be exposed once and for all

Re: Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
I don't want it to happen, but it would be so West Ham if we finally had a manager and he resigned after one game in charge over broken promises by the board.
Surely even they wouldn't be that daft...

What are the odds on Pellegrini being our manager for the first game of the season?

Re: Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
Let's just say that if treat Pellegrini like any other manager they have hired previously, the throw-under-the-bus-at-will type, and if they don't back him with some serious, yet realistic funds, then things are likely to get very uncomfortable for them next season, should they decide to still attend games.

Furthermore the media will call them out and they certainly don't want that to happen. In footballing circle I doubt that anyone would side with Sullivan rather than Pellegrini.

Re: Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
They're going to have to free up some wages.

That guardian article about club profitability made the point that there's a wage rule related to wages paid in 2013. It's difficult if you had a relatively low wage bill then to be able to grow wages now.
